Busy Week!

We had a great week learning about solids, liquids, and gases!  We also started to discuss force and motion.  Below are some pictures from our experiments.  We were also lucky enough to have some Middle School students help us celebrate World Read Aloud Day!

STEM Challenges

We have done 4 STEM Challenges this year and they have been a fun learning experience!  Here are some pictures :)  I give the students a limited amount of resources and time to complete each challenge.   They had to build a house for a gingerbread boy, make a boat out of foil, build the tallest tower possible using play-doh and toothpicks, build the tallest tower possible using note cards and some tape.  It was fun to watch them work and problem solve!

Global School Play Day

We had a great time participating in Global School Play Day!  The class did a great job of playing together and problem solving!  It was a great way to celebrate all of the hard work these 2nd graders have been doing :)
